Recommended Brewing Method

We recommend that you brew this coffee as French Press or filter, but you could also try it on Aeropress or Delter press for a more subtle taste experience.

San Marcos is a province in the northwestern corner of Guatemala bordering up to Mexico and the Pacific Ocean. Being home to two of centralamericas biggest active volcanoes, the volcanic soil adds to a perfect climate for growing coffee.

San Marcos offers an acidic and fresh taste in the cup that is unlike most other Guatemalan coffees. As with most coffee from Guatemala, the coffee is shadegrown in smaller farms in the area, joined in cooperatives with their own wetmill. These are represented by the national Federación de Cooperativas Agrícolas de Productores de Café de Guatemala (FEDECOCAGUA),  an organisation representing  130 cooperatives with more than 19000 members founded in 1969. The federation ensures a high and reliable standard, but also works for local embetterment through infrastructure and education, as well as a sustainable production.
